While she clearly has an addiction, the word of a 6-year-old child can not be taken at face value. What upsets me the most are the comments left at HotAir. These people are supposed to be conservative and yet they are criticizing her for doing something she enjoys that - unless she is lying - not hurting anyone.
I have 4 kids, all of whom where 6 at one point. And all of whom were easily manipulated to answering adult's questions in a way that could be indicting. Yes, the lady seems to have a mental illness when it comes to tanning, but that is only because it isn't a social norm (unless you're Snookie).
I just think the state needs to mind their own business unless there is solid proof the child is in danger.
