PETA's latest bizarre demand: fish should be called 'sea kittens'

Update: Sea Kittens: the other pink meat!

Radical animal rights group PETA (People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals) just launched its most ludicrous campaign yet. It is demanding that fish be called "sea kittens."

[PETA] believes calling fish sea kittens will make sea food less appealing.

It wants to change the image of fish as slimy and slithery creatures by claiming they are similar to cuter, more popular animals. "Would people think twice about ordering fish sticks if they were called sea kitten sticks?" PETA asked on its website.

Well, not all people.

A spokesman for PESCA (People Eating Steak, Chicken and other Animals) said that it was launching an alternative campaign called "Damn, them deep-fried sea kittens are some mighty fine eatin'!".
